10 Beauty Products I Swear By

This is THE. BEST. MASCARA!!! I received this mascara as a sample in an ipsy bag a few months back, and I've been obsessed ever since! I have very thin and short eyelashes and this mascara works wonders and makes it look like they are long and full!

This the the best highlighter I have EVER used. It has just enough shimmer to catch the light but it matches my skin tone so it doesn't overdo it! It is also SUPER lightweight so it doesn't look cake-y on my skin which I love!

I'm not even going to lie- this tool will CHANGE. YOUR. LIFE.
If you're anything like me, you know how annoying it is to wake up with a face full of blemishes when your skin was perfectly clear the day before!! I've been using this clarisonic along with the face wash that comes with it every night for nearly 2 months and I can tell such a difference! Not only does my skin look better- it feels better too!

I'll admit- I was skeptical about this at first. When I opened my ipsy package last month, I was surprised to find this inside since I had never received anything like it in the twelve months I've been a member. I was worried that putting oil on my skin would clog my pores and cause my to break out even more. Well, I was wrong! This oil is AMAZING for both my skin and my lips and I put it on every night before I moisturize.

This is by far my favorite make up product I own! All of the other concealers I've used leave a little dark circle after I put on my foundation, but not this one! It's also full coverage so most of the time I use it INSTEAD of foundation! The best part is that it takes SO little to cover your entire face so one tube can last you forever!

Not only is this super affordable for a curling wand, but it also works SUPER fast! Other curling wands and irons took me 1-2 hours- this one only takes 45 minutes max! It makes curls that are soft and smooth and last all day!

This is definitely my favorite when it comes to the Naked Palettes. I have dark hair and dark brown eyes so the rose gold hues really make them stand out! Make sure to take this quiz before you buy your first Naked palette to see which one is right for you!

Let me tell y'all, this stuff is magic. I have hooded eyes so my eyelids are always super oily which made it really difficult for me to wear eyeshadow without it smearing or fading away. Thanks to this eyelid primer my eyeshadow lasts all day and metallic eyeshadows don't even lose their shimmer!

This was the first primer I've ever purchased so I don't really have much to compare it to, but I can definitely tell a difference in my make up when I use it vs. when I don't! It really helps to prevent my makeup from getting cake-y and dry and also keeps my skin super smooth!

Just like every other girl out there, I too am obsessed with taking a nice long bath and popping in a Lush Bath Bomb. But don't even get me started with how much I love their shower creams and gels!! They work as body wash, shampoo, & bubble bath! My favorite scents are Prince Charming, The Comforter, & Yuzu + Cocoa!

Ashlyn

Navy Rain Jacket + Neverfull

Hey y'all! If you've been keeping up with me on Instagram then you have probably seen that I have recently made the decision to transition from my casual "preppy" style to a more trendy, New England inspired style. With this transition I hope to have a more consistent blog post schedule as well as improving the frequency and quality of my Instagram posts!

I've been obsessed with this Louis Vuitton Neverfull I got off of Mercari! I definitely recommend getting it off this site for anyone who is on a budget or not willing to commit to paying $1000+ for a bag! I also got a red Samorga Organizer for it to keep it neat & tidy, and I'm loving it!!

My jeans are from Aeropostale and they are perfect for people who are short like me and don't like to cuff their jeans three or four times to get them to fit! Below I also tagged a pair from H&M for my taller readers! These Apt. 9 wedges are very Chanel-esque and under $30 & are also tagged below!

This jacket has been one of my FAVORITE recent purchases that I got from T. J. Maxx for under $23!! I tagged a similar style J. Crew one down below!

Ashlyn

Study/Homework Tips & Tricks

Hey y'all! These last two months since I've started college has been CRAZY! Since I'm still technically a 12th grader, I'm having to do a few subjects at home on top of my college classes so I have an even bigger load than most of the other students 😬 So, as you can imagine, I have a LOT of homework. If you're anything like me, I get distracted about every 15 seconds by either the TV, my phone, my computer, or other people! I've compiled this list of strategies and fun ways to keep yourself focused and reward yourself for the little accomplishments to stay engaged.
1. Make a List. I don't know about you but there is nothing more satisfying to me than checking something off a list. Make a list of everything you need to get done and start with the most time consuming and difficult task, and make your way through to the easiest.
2. Reward yourself. After every task you complete, reward yourself with something small! For me, after every assignment I finish I set a timer (this part is crucial so you don't lose track of time) for 5 minutes and let myself check my emails and scroll through Instagram or Pinterest! Sometimes, I also have a bag of Brookside Chocolates (Goji and Rasberry is my favorite) and after every question I eat one.
3. Take Breaks. Don't max yourself out. There have been nights when I get home and have 6+ hours of Homework ahead of me. I don't know about you but there is absolutely no way in this world that I could sit down and stare at a book or computer screen for 6 hours. Every hour or so take a 15 minute break. Now this is not the break I was talking about before when you set a timer to play on your phone, you need to relax. Lay your head down, dim the lights, and just rest. Not only will it help you keep your sanity, it will also help your brain to focus and you will be able to get your work done much quicker! WARNING: I fall asleep just about every time I close my eyes, so make sure to set an alarm for this one too!
4. If you can, do it in the bath. Now this one may not work for you, but for my classes 90% of my homework is done on an app called Moodle and can be done straight from my phone, so it really helps me to focus and takes away many possible distractions when I grab a Lush bath bomb, and hop in the bath to do my work! So, if you have anything that can be done on your phone or computer if you have a bath study tray, (which will definitely be my next purchase!!) I would definitely recommend doing it in a relaxing hot bath!
That's it! I hope you all find this helpful and if you have any questions or comments drop them below or message me on Instagram, @preppyandpetite!
